Oishii Dry was born behind the bar at Benchwarmer, a neighbourhood izakaya tucked away in West Melbourne.
After years of pouring local and imported craft beers, the team noticed a gap: there just wasn’t a local rice lager that truly complemented izakaya-style drinking—grilled skewers, salty snacks, sashimi. So we brewed one.
What's it like?
Oishii Dry is a yuzu rice lager, brewed in Melbourne but inspired by the crisp, refreshing lagers of Japan.
Light-bodied and bone dry, it’s built for repeat drinking. The rice keeps it lean, the yuzu brings a bright citrus snap, and the finish is clean, bitter, and refreshing.
When should I drink it?
This isn’t a beer trying to reinvent anything.
It’s a beer made for sessions, for passing around a table full of snacks, for that third round you didn’t plan on, for the drink you reach for when you’ve had enough of hazies and hype.
Pairs well with Japanese food, salty snacks, sunshine.
Drink it cold. Drink it with friends. Then drink another.
How is it made?
Oishii Dry is brewed in Seaford, Victoria, in small batches with Victorian-grown yuzu, a bit of lemon juice, and a sharp eye on balance.
No gimmicks. No haze. Just a clean, sharp lager with enough personality to stand out—and enough restraint to disappear behind good food and good company.
